INNISFIL, ON — Georgian Downs hosts eight Grassroots divisions of three-year-old trotting colts on Tuesday, Aug. 13 and owner Steve Organ of Aurora will have starters in three of them.

The trotting colts begin their battles in Race 2 and Organ’s first starter, Just Make Believe, will be making his bid for a top finish from Post 1. The son of Kadabra and former Ontario Sires Stakes star Porsche Hall finished third in the June 10 Grassroots season opener at Mohawk Racetrack and then made the move up to the Gold Series level, where he finished sixth. Following two more off-the-board finishes against the top tier colts, trainer-driver Per Henriksen opted for Tuesday’s return to the Grassroots program.

Organ shares ownership of Just Make Believe, who was a $65,000 purchase out of the 2011 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, with Darryl Drain of Tweed, Henriksen’s ASA Farm of Norwood and Thomas Nurmi of Washington, DC.

The second $11,250 Grassroots division features Organ’s second hopeful, Northern Nandi, who will start at Post 7 with Scott Coulter in the race bike. Northern Nandi kicked off his sophomore campaign at the Gold Series level, finishing fourth in the May 28 season opener at The Raceway at Western Fair District, but trainer Mike Keeling switched to the Grassroots in time for the July 1 contest at Clinton Raceway where the gelding logged a runner-up finish.

With a fifth in the July 19 event at Grand River Raceway, the Muscle Mass son has tallied 30 points and will be looking to accumulate a few more on Tuesday for Organ and P C Wellwood Enterprises Inc. of Cambridge.

Organ and P C Wellwood Enterprises also own Muscle On Broadway, who currently ranks eighth in the division standings after scoring one win and one third in Grassroots action. The Muscle Mass colt will make his bid for another top finish from Post 8 in the sixth race, with trainer Keeling once again handing the lines over to Coulter.

Muscle On Broadway faces a tough challenger in Creampuff Macdaddy, who won his elimination and finished sixth in the Yonkers Trot Final at Yonkers Raceway in New York last month. Creampuff Macdaddy starts from Post 4 in the sixth race.

Post time for Georgian Downs’ Tuesday evening program is 7:25 pm, with the three-year-old trotting colts featured in Races 2 through 7, 10 and 11.
