WALES, UK – When it rains it pours and that seems to be the positive trend happening at Tir Prince Raceway as track management has announced a third major sponsor for their harness racing meet in 2016.
Management is delighted to announce that the 2016 Sire Stakes program, which is being held at Tir Prince Raceway on Saturday 24th September 2016, is to be sponsored by PJI Engineering UK.
The Durham based engineering firm is owned by harness racing enthusiast Paul Johnson and the track are very grateful for his kind offer of sponsorship and aim to make it a night to remember.
The Sire Stakes program consists of 21 nominated Stallions whose progeny are automatically eligible for Stakes Races for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, the owners of the said horses have to make pay 3 sustaining fees to keep the horse in the series.
This is the first time in many years that the event has been held at Tir Prince and to receive sponsorship from PJI Engineering is a major boost to both the track and the Sire Stakes program.
The first sustaining fee of £40 for 2, 3 and 4 year olds is due on 31st March 2016 with further payments of £60 due by the 1st June and a final payment of £30 due by 9th September 2016.
“Tir Prince Raceway are proud to be associated with PJI Engineering,” said Eric Witherspoon, Racing Director. “To be holding the Sire Stakes with the quality of the stallions nominated, we are sure that racegoers will be treated to a top class harness racing bonanza.”
Peviously, Tir Prince Raceway announced sponsors for some of their major stakes from Oakwood Stud and Northern Trading Combria.
