Master trainer Jean-Michel Bazire is favoured to prevail with Urgos in the Group III international Prix Hersilie, a sprint for 6-8YOs worth 90,000 Euros at Vincennes on Friday.

The stallion son of Kesaco Phedo has made several appearances in the top flight, with a fifth place in the Prix Jean le Gonidec his best performance - a field which included Un Mec d'Heripre, Uhlan du Val, and in which he beat home the likes of Up and Quick and Unique Quick.

He has had eight wins in his 35 starts, his last victory at Vincennes in late October, and he currently has earnings of 252,640 euros and a record of 1.11.9 (1.55.3MR).

Second favourite in early betting was Jean Loic Claude Dersoir's Sergent du Rib. The son of Baccarat du Pont has won nine lower grade races in 53 starts for 252,000 euros and a record of 1.12.8.

He has not won since the winter meeting last year, when he pulled off three wins in a row, although his last two outings of a 3rd and 2nd show he is coming right back into form.

Italy's Orione Degli has also come in for strong support in early markets. One of five international horses in the field, two Italians and three Swedes, the Conway Hall gelding comes off a last start second. He has won at group two level in Italy and at group three level in France with a win Prix de la Chaussee d'Antin in July. He has amassed earnings of 246,975 euros and taken a mark of 1.12.3 (1.56.2MR).

Haraldinho, a son of former Hambletonian winner Scarlet Knight, is the top rated Swedish entry in the race. A Breeders Crown placegetter as a 3YO, Catarina Lundstrom's gelding has also earned cheques in Swedish gold division races, ande is attracting odds of 15/1 in early markets. He will have Dominik Locqueneux in the bike.

Another son of a North American sire in the race is former Italian group two Citta de Treviso winner Maestrale Spin, a son of Lindy Lane, who is trained by Salvatore Minopoli but he ranked is a 34/1 outsider in early betting.

Perhaps the dark horse in the race though is one from the powerful stable of French legend Jean Pierre Dubois, who will also be aboard his Coktail Jet mare Udine

Trained by Jean Baudron, the 6YO mare is from the family of stallion Kiwi and follows that family Dubois pattern of being placed in suitable races as she develops, with 13 wins from 40 starts.

She really hit her stride last season, and eight of her wins came in her last 13 races, including a group three win in the Prix Klymene in October.
