Former harness racing star and New Zealand Derby winner Pay Me Christian has become a dad. A stunning filly foal (pictured here) from the Nevele R Stud owned mare Joyful Holmes, a Holmes Hanover half sister to open class pacer and 2007 Free-For-All winner Waipawa Lad, and was born on September 17.
With a family that also features dual Derby winner Badlands Bute, NZ Oaks winner Caps Off and Group Three winning juvenile Hemisphere, this filly lacks for nothing in pedigree.
The winner of more than $350,000 on the track,is a son of super-sire and was voted the NZ 3YO Pacer of the Year in 2006 on the back of winning the NZ Derby, the Sires’ Stakes Final and the Rising Stars 3YO Championship. He was also the former fastest pacer in Australasia after winning the Newcastle Mile as a 4YO in 1:52.8. He remains the fastest Australasian bred entire down-under.
stands at Nevele R Stud and served a book of around 40 mares on farm last season and has again been well supported this time round according to Marketing Manager Ged Mooar. " We are aiming for a similar book this term and we're well on our way to hitting that same number. We've since landed another two colts since the first arrival, they all seem to be very athletic and well put together, which is exciting news for those who have sent their mares to him," said Mooar.
