Harrisburg, PA – The State Horse Racing Commission's Bureau of Standardbred Horse Racing today reminded Standardbred harness racing owners that 2019 Sire Stakes payments for 2-year-old and 3-year-old horses are due by March 15.
The first payments due for 2-year-old horses are $150 for the Pari-mutuel Division and $50 for the Fair Division. This payment must be made for the horse to qualify for future opportunities in the PA Sire Stakes.
The final payment of $500 for the Pari-mutuel Division for 3-year-olds is also due by March 15.
In the Fair Division, if no 2-year-old sustaining fees were made in the prior year, a $750 late sustaining payment may be made by March 15 of the horse's 3-year-old season, as well as a sustaining fee of $150, payable by May 15.
The Sire Stakes Sustaining Payment forms are available at www.agriculture.pa.gov. Search "sire stakes." Individuals can also contact Ryan Kell at rkell@pa.gov or 717-214-9053 to obtain payment forms.
