Charlottetown, PE – Perfect Escape won the Thursday night harness racing feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park in a dazzling 1:54.2.
Gilles Barrieau was in the bike for the victory and put the Jackie Matheson trainee on the point lighting up fractions of 27.4, 57 and 1:26. The winner is owned by Jack Keenan, Stratford, PE and Joseph Dahl, Burlington, Ontario. Likely To Win was second with Three Truths third.
Majian Chester won his trotting division for trainer-driver James Ripley and owner Marylea Ripley, Amherst, NS. The open trotters squared off in race 6 with Summerside track record holder Thunderaway, in line to Jason Hughes, beating Charlottetown trot record holder Osprey Impact in gate to wire fashion in 1:59.4. Foxyhall Racing, Summerside, PE is the owner.
Driver Brian Andrew recorded a driving double on the program with Neal delivering as the favorite in the opener while long-shot Honor Roll upset the field in race 7. The horses are co-owned by Brian and William Andrew, Calgary, Alberta.
Fly With Max, owned by Mark Ramsey, Greenwood, NS, posted an impressive mile of 1:55.4 for trainer Mark Bradley and driver Marc Campbell. It was Campbell's second winner of the night.
