Mark Jones will now spell talented two-year-old Pomme Roy, who won his debut by four and a half lengths at Addington yesterday, before preparing him for the Welcome Stakes on April 11.
“It was a nice win and I think he has a very bright future ahead of him,” said Jones. “My other horse (Expresso Martini) was going to get close to him before he paced rough. He still has a bit to learn but the motor is there. He will also target the Welcome Stakes,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bettor’s Delight two-year-old Itz Bettor To Win has been purchased out of the Jones stable by Merv & Meg Butterworth for a sizeable sum. He will now join the stable of Mark Purdon and Natalie Rassmusen.
“I took him around to All Stars to work and left with an empty float,” said Jones. “They said they don’t have a two-year-old as good as him.
“He is a nice horse who should do a very good job,” he concluded.
