Popeye Diamant holds off the field at Vincennes

The Tuesday tro,tting action at Paris-Vincennes included the Quinte+ Prix de Chateau-Gontier (purse 45,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 15 starters) with that victory to 18.8/1 Popeye Diamant (8g Love You-Jasmin Diamant) reined by trainer Gerhard Biendl for Stall MS Diamanten.

Timed in 1.12.1kr the winner increased his life earnings to 130,489€. The 11.1/1 Thor di Girifalco (7g Dream Vacation-Iduna November) with Franck Nivard up was second for trainer/owner Jens Bergmann. The 4.8/1 Ready Ribb (8g Ready Cash-Joyous Sound) took the third check for trainer/driver Bjorn Goop, ahead of the Goop trained stablemate 108/1 Juvels Boy (8g Olimede) that Matthieu Abrivard teamed.

Fifth was the 3/2 favorite DaVinci BR (8g Ken Warkentin-Armbro Barefoot) with Jean Michel Bazire aboard for Mme. Helene Kolle of Norway. The exact order Q+ payoff was 90,583.20€ for a 2€ wager. The Q+ pool was 3,635,583€.

On the card was also the Prix de Bercy (purse 39,000€, 2850 meters, 12 European starters) that resulted in a 1.14.1kr timed victory for 8.3/1 Gustafson (6g Quick Wood-Ultimate Lady) with Rick Ebbinge the pilot for trainer Jeroen Engwerda and owner J.A.M. Knipscheer. 4.4/1 Don Salluste (6g Un Amour d’Haufor) took the second check for pilot Francois Lagadeuc, ahead of the 13.1/1 outsider Domino Dream (6g Blue Dream) handled by Franck Nivard.

There are a host of groupe contests on February 14th and 17th as shown below. Gotland, Green Grass and General du Parc are in the Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson, a Gr. I event.
