Avenel harness racing trainer Wayne Potter enjoyed a happy night at Shepparton on Saturday, providing a stable double with exciting 4-Y-0 American Ideal/Elegant Falcon gelding Authorized taking the Fords Coach Travel / GV Plumbing Pace Final for C1 class over 1690 metres and American Ideal/Bring Her Back filly Sophies Ideal the Sherbourne Terrace Pacefor non winners over the same journey.

Authorized raced by veteran former Kilmore resident Jack Knight was strong in his victory after finishing a game second in the heat held the previous Sunday.

Taking a concession for Mark Pitt, Authorized was tough in his victory after moving forward from gate six to park outside the poleline pacemaker The Numbers Man.

Taking over approaching the home turn, Authorized held a margin to the wire in impressively defeating Hoppy Joe along the sprint lane after following the leader, with Ok To Fly (three back the markers) third. The mile rate a sizzling 1-57.4.

Sophies Deal with Daniel Jack in the sulky, led throughout from gate two, accounting for Art Prevails (one/one) and Lucy Cassandra which trailed the winner in a rate of 2-00.6.

David Aiken finished the week on a high note, with American bred 5-Y-0 Like A Prayer/Aspenglow mare Cold Sister leading for the majority of the journey in the Renown Silverware Trotters Mobile for C4 or better class over 2240 metres at Tabcorp Park Melton on Friday to score from Armed Guard and Zedalite in 2-01.4 and 6-Y-0 Our Sir Vancelot/Troys Dream gelding Composed taking the Tab.com.au Pace for M1 & M2 class over 1720 metres.

Given a cosy trip by Chris Alford mid-field, Composed dashed to the front on straightening to score from Wayne Potters Teo Enteo, with another Aiken runner Atlas Alliance third after leading. The mile rate 1-54.9.

Aiken provided another winner at Shepparton when 4-Y-0 Art Major/Jazz Opera mare Real Bonus (Nathan Jack) led throughout to land the 5th Heat Of the Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series over 2190 metres in 1-59.2, proving too slick for Real Performer which trailed and a death-seating La Pucelle.

Dunnstown's David Murphy was another to enjoy a profitable end to the week when home bred 5-Y-0 It Is I/Biddy My Dear mare Monica My Dear landed the Empire Stallions Vicbred Trotters Mobile for T1 class over 1720 metres at Tabcorp Park Melton in Friday and former SA Derby winner The Night Pearl the 7th Heat of the Vicbred Super Series over 2190 metres at Shepparton on Saturday.

Monica My Dear was given an easy time from the pole trailing the pacemaker Sunset Tour (gate five) and when eased to the outside on turning, finished best to nose him out right on the post, with Mallee Trapper third after following the pair. The mile rate 2-02.6.

The Night Pearl (Village Jasper/.Eris) who at one stage appeared as if he was going to be something special, flew away from gate five to lead and was never in any danger, scoring by 11 metres over a death-seating Kickittochris and Black Caprice which trailed the winner. The mile rate 1-58.6.
