Brandon Campbell pupils have been declared morning line favourites for divisions of the Premier's Filly Stakes Friday at Northlands Park. The lone colt split will be a non-betting event, with trainer Kelly Hoerdt having six entered to the nine-horse dash.
In the first filly division (Race 8, $29,900) for the rookie pacing lasses,bay Paper Cut has been deemed the even-money morning line pick.
Campbell, who will steer the filly from Post 3, has started the bay four times, recording one win and two seconds.
Even though Shark Fest (PP5, Keith Clark) has a faster mark, more wins and on-the-board finishes, the bay daughter ofhas been assessed as the 3-1 second choice in the morning line.
The Campbell-trained baylass Starring Role has been named the 3-5 early choice in the second filly division (Race 10, $29,600) after having tallied four wins and a second from five starts this year.
The colt division (Race 1), which will go for a purse of $55,300, will be a non-betting event.
Horseman Kelly Hoerdt has six charges set to go. Rod Hennessy, Gerry Hudon and Brandon Campbell train the other horses in the tilt.
The Premier's Colt and Filly Stakes were open to Alberta-owned, foaled or sired horses.
