ELORA, ON - On August 18, Grand River Raceway kicks off the first of 12 elimination legs in which players vie for a spot in the $50,000 World Harness Handicapping Championship (WHHC).

The free on-track contest runs Monday and Wednesday race nights from August 18 through September 24. Each night, the top five finishers win cash prizes and the top 10 finishers advance to the Semifinals at Grand River Raceway on September 29.

The winner of the Semifinals earns a spot in the $50,000 WHHC at The Meadowlands Racetrack in April 2015, plus $2,000 for travel and lodging.

Contestants in each elimination leg must select the winners of races two through seven at Grand River Raceway. A hypothetical $2 win and $2 place wager is applied to each selection, and the highest bankrolls win.

In all, the contest offers $3,600 in cash and prizes.
