Stefan Hultman reportedly gave great thought about whether to engage Maharajah for a fourth attempt at the Prix d'Amerique. After a disappointing last prep in snowy Sweden, some did not expect Maharajah to start albeit his second to last start in Sweden which was a solid winning effort.

Also disappointing in his last two starts, Royal Dream was nonetheless engaged in the classic, a race he won easily in 2013. His connections have stated that they will make a decision tomorrow.

Ready Cash is the likely favorite again this year albeit a group of new French players may contest his past supremacy. Triode de Felliere and Up And Quick deserve watching. Italy will probably send out up to four starters in the 2014 edition of the Prix d'Amerique, including Mack Grace SM and Nesta Effe. Mack Grace SM, a sharp son of CC's Chuckie T, has won 12 straight.
