Last Friday night's (November 9) effortless win at Gloucester Park saw champion Im Themightyquinn bring up his 16th successive win at the Perth harness racing track.

The Gary Hall trained son of Washington VC is now four wins behind another champion in San Simeon which won his first 29 career starts as a 3yo, 4yo and 5yo including 20 at Gloucester Park.

San Simeon also won four at the Fremantle Harness Racing Club's now defunct Richmond Raceway track to give him a total of 24 successive wins in Perth.

San Simeon, a nominee for induction into The West Australian Racing Industry Hall of Fame on November 24th, was beaten at his 30th start in a heat of the Inter Dominion held in Hobart in 1981.

He then won his next four starts to give him a record of 33 wins in his first 34 race starts.San Simeon's record of 24 straight wins in Perth will only ever be beaten by a genuine champion and Im Themightyquinn certainly qualifies on that front.
