Quietly, and without much fanfare, Rose Run Nash keeps winning. At Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (June 11) the 9-year-old altered son of Trainforthefuture Was victorious in 2:01 which was his 11th seasonal victory and it ties him for the lead in races won by a trotter this year in North America.

With Jimmy Marohn, Jr. at the controls, he sent the big-gaited gelding to the lead from the four-hole but they didn't take command until they neared the quarter which was trotted in 30 seconds.

From there Marohn kept the pedal to the metal and Rose Run Nash trotted by the half in 1:00.4 and when they passed the three quarters in 1:30.3 they had two lengths on the field. At this finish Marohn had his trotter well in hand and they scored a length victory over Hawaiian Sweetie (Greg Merton) over a track softened by intermittent rain. My Cool Breeze finished third for driver Jimmy Devaux, who by the way won the first three races on the eight-race card today.

"Rose Run Nash been going under the radar here this year but finally they took notice of him today," said trainer Danny Gill. "Geez, he only missed the board once this year and he's been super consistent."

"Although he's nine years old he only started racing when he was six," Gill added. "He's getting better with age."

Rose Run Nash's victory today ties him for the lead in races won this year with Perfect Alliance. However, their yearly bankrolls differ.

Owned by Edward Hall, the trotter paid $2.90 for win.
