Racy Gal Hanover tied the track record for harness racing's aged pacing mares this evening (Wednesday June 22) at Grand River Raceway with a five-length score in 1:53.2. The four-year-old Modern Art miss joins Lady Latte, who set the current mark on Industry Day 2010, and Exquisite Alberta who tied it two weeks ago.

Racy Gal Hanover is a winner of five from 20 starts this year for trainer Ben Baillargeon and owners Santo and Nunzio Vena. Driven tonight by Mario Baillargeon, she’s a career winner of 10 races and $183,000.

The Baillargeon brothers were back in the winners’ circle for Flashback in race 10, and the win nudged Mario Baillargeon to one score shy of 7000 career driving victories. His next opportunity to join the select 7000 club comes with four drives at Mohawk on June 23.

In other Wednesday night action, Paul MacKenzie (a member of the 7000 club since December of 2010) scored three wins on the card: race one favourite Warrawee Limelight, York Street at 8-1 in race three, and Casimir Hotshot in race four. It was the fourth consecutive win for Casimir Hotshot with MacKenzie at the helm. Lowell Brown of Brantford trains and owns the six-year-old pacer.
