Star reinswoman Natalie Rasmussen has been enjoying a brilliant run on the driving front of late and will set all sorts of UDR records if she can maintain her extraordinary record until the end of the season.
So far, Rasmussen has had 45 drives for 22 wins, 5 seconds, and 7 thirds, giving her a stunning UDR of 0.6025.
Considering that top 40 drivers rarely top .3500 in a season, which is also Rasmussen’s best so far, her current UDR is rather spectacular. In fact, the only person to land in the top 20 and have a rate over 0.4000 this century is Rasmussen’s partner -Mark Purdon with 0.4450 in 2009
And Rasmussen should keep her UDR ticking over nicely this week with three strong chances, including Fight For Glory, who looks close to a ‘good thing’ in the Group 3 Nevele R Fillies Classic at Invercargill on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Cran Dalgety trained Bit Of A Legend looks back on track after a disastrous WA campaign.
The dual Breeders Crown champion returned to the trials yesterday at Motukarara where he narrowly downed stablemate Regulus in tidy fashion.
