Charlottetown, PE – Jeb, in line to driver Jason Hughes, needed every step of the race track to collar fraction setter Forever Paradise in the top class Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 'Blue Knight' used a first over attack before dropping into the two-hole up the back stretch during a 28.3 third quarter, moving out at the top of the stretch and nailing the victory at the wire in 1:55. The Hughes trainee picked up his third consecutive victory for owners Robi Hughes, Eric MacLauchlan and Blair MacLauchlan, Stratford, PE.
Dubbed the 'Queen of the Open Mares' in the Maritime region, Ramblinglily used a perfect two hole trip for reinsmen Walter Cheverie to return to her winning form this week in 1:55.4. Owned by Alan Jones and Norm Leger the maritime bred daughter of Articulator looked prepped and ready for next week's Lobster Fest eliminations at Red Shores Summerside.
Driver and trainer Kenny Arsenault picked up a pair of victories with a set of dandy looking three-year-old colts. Lukes Cowboy took a two-hole ride until the three quarter pole before making the move out of the two-hole to score in 1:56.2. Rosewood was sent right down the road clicking the teletimer in 1:57.2.
Corey MacPherson extended his lead as the top driver at Red Shores Charlottetown with victories aboard his own trainees Brodys Leona and Swingirl. He also won with Idealic Life making it a natural hat trick.
