Charlottetown, PE – Governor's Plate winner, Ys Lotus, has been entered to compete in the Saturday top class at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Post time for the 13 dash harness racing program is 6pm.
The son of If I Can Dream gave Red Shores Summerside a new track record of a dazzling 1:51.4 on plate night July 16th. The following week he finished a disappointing seventh charted in 1:54.4 over Bangor Raceway. The Rene Allard trainee is back on the red soil leaves from post six for driver Marc Campbell. The favorite will need to be at the top of his game with Forever Paradise (Michael McGuigan) going for his sixth win of the campaign for trainer Kevin MacLean. This guy can follow the gate out and also has impressive closing speed as witnessed in his 28.4 final panel in his last outing of 1:55.4. The roster also includes back to back winner Machinthesand (Ken Murphy), Smiley Bayama (Walter Cheverie), who is riding a four race win streak, Governor's Plate consolation winner Narragansett (Jason Hughes) while Athletic Putnam (Brian MacPhee) gets the rail for his new owner Kent MacPhee, Cornwall, PE and trainer Ambyr Campbell.
Van Zant gets the top call in the Eleanor Roberts memorial pace in race 4. Roberts worked in the former CDP business office for several years. Members of her family and friends will be trackside for the cooler presentation. Superbo Hanover (Gordy Hennessey), Ultimate Faith (Ryan Desroche) and Eyes of Glory (Steven Shepherd) are also listed as top contenders in this special race.
Red Shores will play host to businesses and charities in the Drive for Charity promotion with a centerfield reception in the historic Judge's stand. Driver Jason Hughes and his sponsor KKP are closing in on the $1000.00 mark for Easter Seals.

Maple Leaf and Callbeck Stakes take over Summerside Sunday
Summerside, PE – The stage is set for a stakes filled day at Red Shores Summerside Sunday with a 16 dash program featuring the Maple Leaf and Callbeck Stakes with $82,400 in prize money on the line. Post time is 1pm.
The afternoon gets underway with Pappy Go Go, a two -year-old trotter from the William Andrew breeding farm, installed as the morning line favorite while Tobinator (Corey MacPherson) goes for his third win from four starts in his young career in race 2.
The three-year-old trotters make their first appearance in race 3 with Dunmore Ace, owned by trot specialist Ralph Annear, Montague, PE, trying for top honours.
In other action, Nameisonthehalter is back in town and leads off the pick 5 players in race 6 for Danny Romo. The two-year-old colt, owned by Lawrence Snow, Glace Bay, NS, has only one defeat in four starts in his young career.
Breeders Crown champion Glencove Zani (Len McGuigan) and red hot Mr Bower (Ken Arsenault) hook up in race 7. The Wade Peconi owned trotter could tip over the $10,000 mark in earnings with a victory.
These future stars have some pretty cool names such as fillies Kiss my Sass, Filly Forty Seven and Imahawkchick. Some of the colt's catchy names include Mick Dundee, Cowboys Don't Cry or Wicked Nick. They will be strutting their stuff Sunday at Summerside.
