Charlottetown, PE – D GS Camme won the Saturday night harness racing feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park in 1:55.3.
Driver Gilles Barrieau attempted to send D GS Camme to the lead from his outside post but that plan didn't work after they met some stiff opposition rounding the first turn. The duo decided to sit 5th to the opening quarter put up by All Turain (Corey MacPherson) in a swift 27.4. Camme was on the move on route to the half in 57.1 before taking command past the three quarter marker in 1:26. The Jackie Matheson trainee won by a half a length over All Turain while Oh To Be Me (Gary Chappell) was third. It was the second win in a row for the ownership team of Quentin & Hal Bevan, Tom Clark and Ron Matheson, Charlottetown, PE.
Veteran driver Gary Chappell scored a hat-trick on the program with wins aboard Textually Active, Unstoppable Speed and longshot Fly With Max who returned $30.80 to win.
Ramblinglily captured the open mares in 1:55 flat for the fastest mile of the night. Walter Cheverie was in the bike for trainer Allan Jones and his co-owner Normand Leger, Shediac, NB.
Marc Campbell notched a driving double with Freddie in the open trot and Daylyn Horizon.
