SUMMERSIDE, PE – Sunday afternoon was Adam Merner day at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as the reinsman celebrated four harness racing victories including a win in the afternoon feature.
Mystery Phil and Merner swept up in the final panel to land in the winner’s circle in the $2,700 featured pace stopping the clock in 1:55.1. Jeb (Driven by Jason Hughes) was second with pacesetter Woodmere Ideal Art (Robert Laffin) third. Dale and Ronnie Rennie of Elmsdale hold the ownership papers of Mystery Phil.
Merner started off his grandslam winning race 1 in a maiden breaking score aboard two-year-old filly Southfield Skye in 1:58 For trainer Glen MacKay of Summerside. La Vie En Rose supplied another win in race 2 in 1:59.2 from the Stacey Lund stable while Khitam Image was the other piece of the puzzle winning in 1:59.2 for Merner and trainer Marvyn Webster of Kensington.
Brodie MacPhee and Jason Hughes had driving doubles on the card.
Total wager was $36,700.
