Charlottetown, PE – Eagle Jolt overcame post 8 and fired a closing panel of 27.4 seconds to win the Thursday night harness racing feature for the second week in a row at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The time of the mile was 1:57.3.
Marc Campbell, who notched his 113th win of the season at the city oval with a driving triple on the program to take a commanding lead in the driver standings, was in the bike for the victory for owners Wilbur & Marie MacDonald, Orwell Cove, PE. Forever Paradise was second with fraction setter Doing Some Damage third.
The trotters were showcased on three occasions on the program. Phantom Beau and driver Mark Bradley won the first class while Frill Seeker, with Gordie Hennessey catch-driving, won his assignment and Osprey Impact captured the open trot for Corey MacPherson and owner-trainer Paul Larrabee, Bell River, PE.
Driver Mike McGuigan recorded a driving double on the final Thursday night card.
