CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The best trotters on the East Coast met Thursday evening for Lady Slipper stake action at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
West River Cindy won the first $7,600 Lady Slipper three-year-old trot division in 2:00.3 for trainer-driver Clare MacDonald and owner Haley Shepherd of Stratford, PE.
Buckaroo claimed the other division for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owners Larry and Kathy Chappell of Marshfield, PE. Time of the mile was 2:00.1.
Mile Hill Willie scored a narrow win in Lady Slipper two-year-old trotting action with a 2:05.1 mile for trainer-driver Gilles Barrieau and owner Paul Morrison of Cardigan, PE.
Dusty Lane Titan hit the wire first in the other $7,500 rookie division in a time of 2:04.2 for trainer-driver Campbell and owner Grayland Farm of Pugwash, N.S.
Campbell had five wins on the card as he also scored with Freddie in the $1.950 Open trot in a time of 2:00.1, Only One Star in 1:58.1 for trainer Anthony Stymest and Malabrigo in 1:58.1 for trainer Darryl MacLean of Winsloe, PE.
