CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Blair Andrew Memorial stake for two-year-old trotters took centre stage Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Little Miss Winnie opened up the program winning her $10,000 Andrew Memorial division in 2:04.1 on top at every call for driver Gilles Barrieau. Steven Sorrie of Montague owns the two-year-old daughter of Tad The Stud while veteran trainer Ralph Annear handles the conditioning duties. Dusty Lane Mavis (Driven by Gary Chappell) was second while Oceanview Hal (Henry Smallwood) was third.
Dusty Lane Titan took the second split in an identical time of 2:04.1 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owner Grayland Farms of Pugwash, N.S. Windemerebarrister picked up second place money with Walter Cheverie at the lines while the triactor was rounded out by Getting Messi (Corey MacPherson).
Freddie captured the $1,950 Open trot for trainer-driver Campbell, stopping the clock in 2:00.1 over Majian Tango (Jim Ripley) and Glencove Carter (Steven Shepherd). Freddie is owned by Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston.
