Charlottetown, PE – The best harness racing 3-year-old pacers the Maritimes have to offer are set to duke it out in their respective eliminations for next week's elusive Maritime Breeders Finals.
Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park will play host to a power packed 14-dash card featuring five Maritime Breeders Eliminations, Preferred 1 feature and the best mares the East Coast has to offer. Action gets under way at 6 p.m.
Jackson K Down will kick off the three colt eliminations in Race 4 when the two-year-old stand out looks to win his ninth straight race dating back to last season. Owned by the Downey Stables and conditioned by Steve Mason, the son of Camystic has won 12 of his 13 lifetime starts. Gilles Barrieau will handle the driving duties from Post 1.
Dusty Lane Arby showed in the Bob Dewar he has the stuff to strut with the big boys, he has drawn post 5 in the second $3,000 elimination for driver Corey MacPherson, he will have to contend with another Downey-Mason hopeful in K D Overdrive who has drawn the outside Post 6.
A pair of Tom Weatherbie trainees have drawn into the first Maritime Breeders elimination for the fillies, morning line favorite Glory Jean has drawn post 3 for driver Mark Bradley while Howmac Annie will leave from post 2 in the field of 7 for Barrieau.
Meridian Farms sire Brandons Cowboy will be well represented in the final colts division Race 10, Lukes Cowboy is the morning line Favorite for Kenny Arsenault from Post 3, Beaus Cowboy has Post 6 and J K Cowboy will leave from Post 4.
Howmacscanasta will highlight the second of only two filly divisions, the daughter of Articulator has drawn the outside post 7 for owners Wayne MacRae, Robert Tilley and Lester Mott, the Barrieau trained and driven winner of seven races lifetime will look to pick up her third victory from only three starts.
Last year's Governors Plate winner and Gold Cup and Saucer, D Gs Camme will headline the race 13 feature, fresh off of a 1:57 and change, the now six-year-old son of Blissfull Hall has been saddled with the Post 7 for conditioner Jackie Matheson and the his regular pilot Barrieau.

Casimir Luciano going for eight at Summerside
Summerside, PE – Harness racing action is back at Red Shores Summerside Sunday at 1pm.
The 13th race feature will once again see Casimir Luciano and driver Marc Campbell look to extend their winning streak to eight consecutive races. Casimir Luciano has drawn post 5 for owner trainer Ralph Sweet. Other contenders include Oh To Be Me, Motorino, Carivore and Dbs Rosco.
The Backstretch Beat is a new addition to the Red Shores Summerside program, filled with insight on the top sections in each and every race. The 'beat' has landed on Bowyer Hanover in Race 9.
"Look no further than the way he finished his mile last time out, he was flying! Any kind of speed like that could be to much for the rest to handle," reads the 'Beat'.
Narragansett for Foxyhall Racing and trainer-driver Jason Hughes are pegged for second while Pictonian Storm is picked for the show prize.
There is sure to be lots of action in the Drive For Charity this week at Red Shores Summerside, in the kick off last week a number of drivers we're out of province on stake duties but are back to rack up the dollars for local charities.
