Charlottetown, PE – The stage is set for a busy weekend of harness racing with an 11 dash card Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Post time is 6pm. Red Shores Summerside plays host to the stars Sunday in the Ruby Chappell stakes for three-year-old fillies with the three-year-old colts being called to the starter in Bob Dewar stakes. Post time is 1pm.
Big Surf will make his season debut off the rail in the $2,400 feature Saturday in the capital city. Marc Campbell will be in the bike to handle the Trevor Hicken trainee after a super impressive qualifier in 1:57.4 clocking and a 27.4 closer.
The son of Somebeachsomewhere will go up against Outside The Wire who scorched Summerside oval in 1:55 on opening day for Jason Hughes and conditioner Craig Avery. Hicken will also send out his other stable star All Turain from post 6 for red hot Corey MacPherson. Darth Bader (Kenny Arsenault), Tempo Seelster (Vince Poulton) and American Terror (Ed Harvey) only adds to the appeal. The program will also feature the open trotters in race 3 with Pleasure Girls getting the edge over Zip The Lip and Frill Seeker.
Fly With Max is getting comfortable in the winner's circle with two wins and two seconds since relocating from Flamboro Downs in Ontario.
