Purchasers at next month’s Tasmania Premier Yearling Sale in Launceston will be eligible for a range of rich incentives should their purchase win as a two, three or four-year-old.
All horses in the sale are eligible for a $2,000 Tasbred win bonus for each of their first two race wins as both as a two and three-year-old. If a horse does not win at two and three a $2,000 bonus will be paid for their first win as a four-year-old or older.
Tasbred win bonuses apply only to races conducted in Tasmania. A total of $280,000 is paid out to breeders and owners in the Tasbred Bonus scheme each year.
Furthermore, yearlings presented at the sale will be eligible for a one off $2,000 First Win Bonus for their first race win anywhere in Australia before reaching four years of age.
As an added incentive, all horses presented for sale will be eligible to compete in $10,000 Yearling Sale Classics for two and three-year-olds of both sexes.
The 2014 Tasmania Premier Yearling Sale will be conducted on Friday, February 14 at the Inveresk Showground, Launceston.
The sale has attracted 39 entries – all eligible for the Tasbred scheme – including youngsters by Art Major, Rocknroll Hanover, Shadow Play, Courage Under Fire, Mister Big, Elsu and Four Starzzz Shark.
An additional entry is a filly by the Artsplace horse Art Colony out of the New York Motoring mare Motoring Rivers, a half-sister to the Hobart Cup winner Purple Haze and a close relative of Miracle Mile hero Beautide.
