Italy’s classic Grand Premi Citta’ di Montecatini was held Monday at Montecatini with the two harness racing eliminations and final, the final win going to Ringostarr Treb that also took the second battery. The winner was teamed by Roberto Vecchione and is a six year-old stallion by Classic Photo-Farsalo Egral-Supergill. He took battery two timed in 1.13kr over 1640 meters autostart, by five lengths over Radio Wise (6m Turbo Sund-Matrhers Grincheause-Garland Lobell) and driver Federico Esposito, with third to Stankovic OK with Enrico Bellei up.
Battery one over the same 1640 meters autostart with a purse of €14,300 went to 1.13.9kr timed Newyork Newyork (9m Supergill-Viola d’Amore-Indro Park) with Lorenzo Baldi driving. Saba del Ronco and Radiofreccia FL trailed the winner.
The final, with a purse of €103,400 and over 1640 meters autostart, was a easy five length victory for the 1.12.2kr timed Ringostarr Treb, that started from post one for driver Vecchione. Radio Wise was second ahead of Osiride Grif (8m Varenne-Sex Appeal OK-Lanson) that Antonio Grepi teamed. Newyork Newyork finished fourth in an race in which the winner was dominant.
On August 13 at Cesens was held the Breeders Course Prix Allevamento Folli for €18,700 for two year-olds. The 1.15.7kr timed winner was Vash Top (2f Ready Cash-Melody del Rio-Varenne) with Enrico Bellei driving. Villa Santina Jey (2f Igor Font-Lunigianna Jet-Supergill) was second ahead of Vera Wise As (2f Muscle Massive-Pushover Hanover-Andover Hall-PCQ Miriam) driven by Alessandro Gocciadoro.
