Roi du Lupin reined by Anthony Barrier, for for owner/trainer Jean Paul Marmion, today defeated Elitloppet 2014 winner Timoko to capture the Gr. II Prix de la Ville de la Capelle and secure the winners' share of the £100,000 purse. The sprinter challenge contest over 1609 meters autostart was never in doubt as the winning nine year-old gelded son of Fleuron Perrine-Helios de Saint Pol-Quiton du Coral secured the lead three wide off the gate and Barrier rated a comfortable pace thereafter.

Heavily favored 2/5 odds Timoko started from post seven and was taken back by pilot Bjorn Goop for trainer/owner Richard Westerink. Timoko eventually followed cover and rallied three wide late in the last turn but only could get to 1-1/2 lengths of Roi du Lupin that won for the 27th time and raised his career earnings to £1,696,345. Time for the one mile distance was 1.10.9kr (1:54.13) over the rain soaked racecourse at La Capelle. Reve de Beylev ended third for Eric Raffin and trainer Sebastian Guarato
