Roi du Lupin wins with ease in Belgium

Veteran class-master Roi du Lupin (9g Fleuron Perrine-Helia de Saint Pol-Quiton du Coral) took todays Prix General du Lupin at Mons Ghlin, after a year's absence due to injury.

Teamed by Anthony Barrier for legendary owner/trainer Jean-Paul Marmion, the short-money favorite scored in 1.14.4kr over the 2300 meter autostart course. Roi du Lupin now has 24 career victories and earnings of nearly 1.5 million euros.

Marmion said his charge is in good shape and is being prepped for fast-class races during the spring season. Another veteran, Paladin Bleu, was second with Denmark's hopeful Ouch ending third.
