September 27, 2015 – Gabriel Gelormini teamed the Roberto Donati trained Roxana de Barbray (10f Speed Clayettois-Iriane des Enclos) to victory in Sunday’s Gr. II Grand Prix des Belares at Son Pardo Majorca. The 2650 meter autostart event carried a purse of €50,000 and was comprised of 16 FR-bred aged campaigners. The 13.2/1 odds winner has career earnings of €1,016,750 with €23,000 earned from today’s victory clocked in 1.14.3kr in gate to wire fashion.
2.8/1 Uppercut de Manche (7g Neutron du Cebe-Nuit de Manche) was a close second for driver Sebastian Ernault and trainer Thierry Raffegeau. 6.5/1 Solea Rivelliere (9f Celife des Nones-Heloa Rivelliere) ended third for trainer/driver Philippe Daugeard ahead of fourth finishing 2.4/1 Sthieric (9g Alpha Barbes-Justice Prouvee) with trainer/driver Franck Ouvrie. The race was arranged by Cheval-Francais/Le Trot to promote FR-registered trotters that have been imported regularly by Spain. PMU carries Son Pardo races via their successfully expanding international simulcasting network. A number of better-grade FR trotters were flown in for today’s feature race along with their connections.

The Son Pardo undercard included the €6,000 Grand Prix Moet & Chandon over 2650 meters autostart. 1.2/1 favorite Bonnie Cadence (4f Qualypso Jiel-Potuna Saint Andre) took this event by five lengths for trainer/driver Emmanuel Allard clocked in 1.17.3kr. 60/1 Qristo d’Ymer (11g Jam Pridem-Gazelle d’Ymer) was second with 10.6/1 Sang du Grand Houx (9g Emir des Presneaux-Dispute des Pres) third. The 3150 meter autostart Grand Prix Turf Criterium National for €6,000 purse went to 12/1 Un d’En Fliper (7g Fliper Star-At=rtarita Plu) for reinsman M.A. Binimelis Pena timed in 1.18.2lr. Top Wing TB and Vincennes HM finished two-three behind the winner.
The Saturday and Sunday cards at Hipodrom Son Pardo and Hipodrom Municipal de Manacor included four races in a series between Spanish and US amateur reinsman. The US drivers included Alan Schwartz, Hannah Miller, Joe Faraldo and Joe Pennacchio. Schwartz was third in two races. The race winners were:
