Cream Ridge, NJ – 11/4/2018 – McCauley Bros. Feed – Standardbred Retirement Foundation's (SRF) Feed Bucket Challenge is a win! For every dollar donated during the challenge, McCauley's Feed offered to match up to $7,000 with their quality feed. Thanks to all the wonderful donors, the challenge was completed in a winning way!
The adopter of Old Friends, the 15 year-old son of Blissful Hall, stepped up in a big way to complete the balance needed of just over $4,000, more than half of the challenge. Old Friends was brought to SRF in August of this year to rehabilitate and to find a home, purchased through the volunteer efforts of Save Our Standardbreds from Slaughter (SOSS) Facebook page to avoid shipping to the Canadian slaughterhouse. He is one lucky horse.
With nearly 400 horses under SRF's expense and care this much-needed challenge gift from McCauley's Feed, a company that has been supporting SRF for nearly 20 years, has been a great help and is very appreciated. SRF extends its warmest thanks to all who supported, to the McCauley's Feed for all their wonderful support, as well as to Reynolds Hay and Straw, the local distributor in SRF's area.
