SS Sweet Sign won for the seventh time in 10 starts this year for owners Cass and Cal Gallagher when she was victorious on Tuesday night (October 25) at Northville Downs.
The 3-Year-Old filly by Sign of Success and out of the Falcon Almahurst mare Year Two Thousand has won five out of her six most recent starts for trainer Rob Harmon.
Brad Kramer was in the bike on Tuesday evening when SS Sweet Sign left from post position eight; he ducked her right after the start and they got away last as the field passed the quarter pole in :28.
Kramer began to move her and they were third-over as they approached the half-mile pole, which was reached in 59.4s. SS Sweet Sign followed Stephanie Plum, three-wide, on the Northville Downs backside and got around the Fielding Notes when they cruised past the three-quarter pole in 1.30.4.
SS Sweet Sign and Stephanie Plum battled down the stretch, but SS Sweet Sign finished 1 ½ lengths in front, and won in 2.01.2.
Harmon and Kramer also teamed and won the fifth race with More Taxes for owner Chuck Campbell. More Taxes now has six wins in 18 starts this year, and has career earnings of over $59,000.
