Star Messenger, T's Electric and Sunshine Superman tangle in a wide open feature race on Sunday, Feb. 14 at Dover Downs. A $20,000 Claiming pace is the co-feature on the 15-race harness racing card. Post time is 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.
After leaving the starting gate from the outside in five of his last six starts, Star Messenger owned by Janet Hudson and Jo Ann King, with Vic Kirby driving, finally moves to post 1 in the competitive nine horse field. Among the opposition Bobby Myers' Pinearosa with Tony Morgan driving, who finished second last time out. Two horses that were third, Steve Blood's T's Electric with Allan Davis and trainer-driver George and Tina Dennis' Allstar Preview are contenders.
Starting from the outside is Doug Lewis' sharp Sunshine Superman piloted by Jonathan Roberts. Two others who should be heard from are Kathleen Mofield and KDK Standardbreds and John Dickens' Race Me Villa piloted by Montrell Teague and Virgil Addison's New Kind and Tony Morgan. Owner-driver Sean Bier's Brody and Smart Rokker, handled by Ty Davis complete the lineup.
Bob Murray's Three Day Pass (Dennis) and Too Darn Hot (Jason Lynch) are fresh from wins last start in the Sub-feature, $20,000 4&5-Year-Old Claiming pace. Both Mike Casalino and Dylan Davis' If You Want Fire (A. Davis) and Kathleen Brewer's Quick Shot (Ross Wolfenden) finished second last start.
The rest of the field feature R.J.Thomas' Stanhope (Bier) from the rail, DuPage's Z Tam (Morgan), owned by Polansky, the McCaffreys and Z Tam Stables along with Allan Welch's Sentosa Island (Dennis).
Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, racing begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday are dark days. .
