Saba Del Ronco wins Gran Premio Allevatori Filly at Napoli

Enrico Bellei steered the game two year-old filly Saba Del Ronco (2f Adrian Chip-Didone Gas-Sugarcane Hanover) to a rain soaked victory in today’s 66,000 euro, 1600 meter autostart Gran Premio Allevatori Filly at Napoli. She overcame a long journey on the outer behind both Swami Gams and then second place finisher Savannah Bi before prevailing by a length. He juvenile slate is now eight starts with four wins and four placings, good for earnings in excess of 55,000 euro.

The winners’ sire Adrian Chip (9m Andover Hall-My Favorite Chip-Pine Chip-Spinning Reel) earned over US$1.57 million and scored 23 wins in 45 lifetime starts, winning the Orsi Mangelli, Ulf Thorsens Minneslopp, Solvalla Grand Prix and Axel Jensens Minneslopp. In the US he was an impressive second in the Hambletonian, World Trotting Derby and Matron Final (age two) and third in the Yonkers Trot and Breeders Crown (age two). He was handled during his racing career by Sweden’s Robert Bergh.

For driver Bellei, the win with Saba Del Ronco capped a solid day in which he also won with the Riordan/Guida filly Red Rose America and had two second place finishes with Rod Stewart and Napoleon Bar.

At Kincsem Park today the featured 500,000Huf Paulovitz Janos Memorial, over 1960 meters, went to Lady Luna (8f Sierra Ranger-Luna) for Josef Sagaj in 1.18.4kr. Ollyan Nincs was second for Andrea Fazekas overcoming a 20 meter handicap and Orangyal ended third for Pal Vicsen. The Fazekas stable had a productive day as Platina Lady (4f Wall Street Banker-Golden Lady) won for  trainer Imre Fazekas and Andrea Fazekas earned two wins on the card with Jegyzono (10f Valley Guardian-Atletano) and Pretty Dancer (4f Daguet Rapide-Croatass).
