MILTON, ON - September 25, 2018 - Driver Mike Saftic joined elite company by surpassing $100 million in career earnings on Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The 56-year-old reinsman entered Monday's action just $5,895 away from the significant milestone with six-drives on the 11-race card.

Saftic earned $6,180 in his opening four drives of the evening, surpassing the $100 million mark with a third-place finish behind five-year-old pacer The Loan Ranger in the fifth-race.

A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Saftic has been a member of the Woodbine driving for more than three-decades and his streak of consecutive $1 million seasons currently sits at 29.

Saftic, who was inducted into the Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame in 2016, has won 5,284 races during his career. His career-best for wins in a season is 246 in 2000, while his highest-earning season is $6.7 million in 2002.

A presentation to celebrate Saftic's milestone was held following the seventh-race and the veteran reinsman was joined by a group of family and friends.

Woodbine Entertainment would like to congratulate Mike Saftic on his accomplishment.
