Live Jazz (Andover Hall) secured a first over victory in the $17,000 Open Trot at Saratoga Casino and Raceway on Friday night.

The red hot connections of driver Jim Morrill Jr and trainer Kevin Efimetz won another four races on Friday night including the trotting feature.

Live Jazz wound up taking on the race's frontrunner Cash Poor (Austin Siegelman) and they dueled for a half mile before the favored wore down Cash Poor in the final eighth of a mile before stopping the timer in 1:58.1. Cash Poor held on for second while Justa Rebel (Jay Randall) came from last to finish third.

The Morrill-Efitmetz combination is winning at roughly an 80 percent rate in the early stages of the meet at the Spa. Morrill tallied five total wins on the card.

Live racing continues on Saturday at Saratoga with a first post time set for 6:45pm.
