Panpero Firpo (No Pan Intended) continued the year long trend of a different horse winning the Open Pace almost every Saturday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. In addition he battled through the snow and older rivals to hold on and a trip to victory lane.

On closing night, the three year old Panpero Firpo became the twenty-first different pacer to win the Open in the past twenty-three weeks. Driver Jordan Derue was aggressive with the Jackie Rousse trainee and moved to the lead early in the mile on a snowy night in Saratoga. The sophomore dug in in the stretch to hold off a host of rivals before stopping the timer in 1:57.4 over the snow covered oval.

The race's favorite Bet On Roulette (Shawn Gray) was the runner up in the $16,050 feature while Whogoesfirst (Jim Devaux) finished third. The 2013 racing season is now complete at the Spa with live action set to resume on March 2, 2014.
