Randy Tharps raises his whip in victory with Ardyne Ace
Ardyne Ace and Randy Tharps took the $19,000 Open II Pace on Saturday night in a seasons best, 1.50.2.

Ardyne Ace is an eight-year-old gelded son of Aces N' Sevens out of the Big Towner mare, Hertown Hanover. He's trained by Ohio native, Jim Pollock for David Ehrenberg II and Daniel Fawcett of Ohio. He started from post six in the field of nine and was seated in to the fifth spot, but they didn't sit for long.

Tharps pulled just past the quarter that was paced in a hot 26.1, that was set by Ilikeitrealhot. He received a short stint of cover from Full Code and Dan Noble, but they cleared at the half way point, paced in a moderate 55 seconds. This left Tharps and Ardyne Ace in a first over spot.

Full Code and Ardyne Ace battled down the backside in a fast 27.1, reaching the three quarters in 1.22.1. Ilikeitrealhot and Aaron Merriman were getting the perfect pocket trip behind the battling duo and looked to pounce in the super stretch.

Ardyne Ace was game tonight and prevailed by three quarters of a length over Full Code and Ilikeitrealhot grabbed the show spot. A mere five lengths covered the entire field of nine.

Racing continues on Tuesday (June 24) first race post time is 6:30 p.m.
