Source Of Pride (American Ideal) stepped up into the Open Pace for the first time on Saturday night at Saratoga. The Tracy Brainard trainee came into the $17,000 harness racing feature on a three race win streak.

Bruce Aldrich Jr.piloted the four year old and moved him to the early lead after a sizzling open quarter of 26.4. The fractions didn't slow down for Source Of Pride but he had enough left in the tank to seal the deal for the first Open win of his young career.

The victory came in 1:52 which served as the fastest mile of the year to date on a warm spring night in Saratoga. Lets Rock Together (Billy Dobson) sat the pocket and finished second in the feature while Spinarama (Austin Siegelman) earned the show spot. Source Of Pride was the race's even money favorite and led an exacta that returned a chalky $6.80.

Live racing continues on Sunday afternoon at Saratoga with a matinee kicking off at 12:45pm.
