On Saturday night, Source Of Pride (American Ideal) became the first horse to win as many as two Open Paces this year at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

The Tracy Brainard-trainee announced his presence in the Saturday feature with authority last week as he not only prevailed in his first try against the top horses the track has to offer but did so in 1:52, the fastest mile of the season at the Spa.

Bruce Aldrich Jr. piloted Source Of Pride once again on Saturday and had to settle for a first over journey to the race's favorite Eighteen (Billy Dobson). Source Of Pride wore down the public choice and emerged with a 1:52.3 victory.

His win not only made him the first two-time winner of the Open Pace this year but made him the first horse to win back-to-back Opens since March of 2013. Longshot Recent News (Shawn Gray) closed to be second in the $17,000 feature while Eighteen held on for third.
