The exact five order ticket paid 5,120 euro for a two euro wager.
At Hippodrome LeCroise-Laroche the well-bred and bold-going Viva Island (4f Goetmals Wood-Island Dream-Coktail Jet) scored in the Prix Andre de Wazieres (2800 meters, 25,000 euro purse) with Jose Antonio Hernandez-Navarro aboard for owner/trainer Jean-Pierre Dubois.
She recorded her seventh lifetime win for career earnings of 244,820 euro. Viva Island overcame a 50 meter handicap to win in 1.14.5kr as the 1.3/1 favorite. Her dam Island Dream (Coktail Jet-Bambina-Quioco) sported a career slate of 1:58.4 ($555,993 euro) and is also dam of Infinitif 1:54.1 ($890,852), Not Disturb 1:55.3 ($410,575) and three other winners of over US$100,000.
