Sciecco (3m Look de Star-Iuta-Viking Kronos) took Saturday’s €154,000 Carlo Marangoni Memorial Open at Torino, Italy for Andrea Guzzinati.
The long-striding chestnut winner recorded his fifth win in 16 outings, now for earnings over €265,000. Sciecco covered the 2100 meter autostart course in 1.14.9kr. Sing Hallelujah (3m SJ’s Caviar-Mystic Hanover-Donerail) was second for Roberto Vecchione Jr. with third to Superbo Capar (3m Calypso Capar-Dark Degi Ulivi-Indro Park) with Jos. Lombardo Jr. aboard.
The filly Sister Dany Bar (3f Love You-Red Hot Action-American Winner) ended fourth for Marco Smorgon.
The €55,000 Carlo Marangoni Filly went to Simona Om (3f Uronomtro-Keystone Frizzle-Balanced Image) in rein to Roberto Andreghetti.
Simona Om won for the sixth time in 17 starts, covering 1600 meters autostart in 1.13.8kr in a rousing finish with three other rivals in the picture. Saba del Ronco (3f Adrian Chip-Didone Gas-Sugarcane Hanover) was second for Enrico Bellei with Sangria Bi (3f Toss Out-Guidara As-Lemon Dra) home third for owner/driver Maurizio Biasuzzi. Sirena d’Asolo finished fourth.
