Scuola Hanover captured the Mares Winners Over/ Select Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday.
At the start of the race, harness racing driver Ross Wolfenden catapulted My Kiwi Lady N to the front. She set fractions of 28.2 to the quarter. Wolfenden backed the half off in 57.2. It was a pedestrian 29.2 for this class.
Scuola Hanover, the 4/5 race favorite, and driver Art Stafford Jr. moved off the rail from fourth and accelerated the pace. They attacked 1st over and pressured My Kiwi Lady N to the three quarters in 1:24.2. The ladies paced the third quarter in 27.2.
At the top of the lane, Scuola Hanover wore down the leader My Kiwi Lady N and won by a length and three quarters in 1:51.1. She was sent off as the 4/5 race favorite.
SCUOLA HANOVER REPLAY
Scuola Hanover (Rocknroll Dance) is owned by Art Stafford, Andrew Stafford and Thomas Ireland. Players only had to identify owner Tom Ireland as a great hunch play on St. Patrick’s Day. Scuola Hanover paced a last half in 53.4.
Trainer Andrew Stafford, when asked about Scuola Hanover’s trip, stated “ She loves to work and is real sharp right now”.

Sassa’s Sister finished a fast closing second for 87 year old trainer Jim Porter. My Kiwi Lady N, the pacesetter finished third for trainer Chris Scicluna.
