Last evening the usual cast of characters at the Isle Pompano Park were busy studying past performances, sharing opinions, enjoying an occasional adult beverage and even watching other sports from the Horsehoe Bar next to the track apron area, Nothing out of the ordinary.

in this case the MLB featured game was between the LA Dodgers and NY Mets from New York. On the adjoining screen horses were parading for the next race at Penn National with one starter named "Dodger Fan".

The group, always with intense attention to detail, dusted off $20 and placed a wager and watched with great vigor and loud cheering as Dodger Fan split horses with hustle and bustle to win with a $9.20 win payoff. Yes, and the LA Dodgers won too by a 4-3 count.

Who says hunches never pay off!
