Prix Jean Dumouch goes to Septour at Vincennes

Julien Dubois drove Septour

Today's Paris-Vincennes Gr. III featured Prix Jean Dumouch (2850 meters, 115,000 euro purse, European) went to 2/1 favorite Septour (7g Love You-Kenitra-Capriccio) in 1.14kr with Julien Dubois aboard. He scored for the 16th time in 51 career appearances, now with earnings of 474,000 euro. Dubois used patient pylon hugging tactics before escaping between horses in mid-stretch to defeat Une Fille d'Amour (5f Infant du Bossis-Never So Great) and David Thomain. Possible Prix d'Amerique entrant Up And Quick (5m Buvetier d'Aunou-Fichtre) was third for driver J-M Bazire, overcoming a 25 meter handicap, and timed faster that his competitors today. Up And Quick is trained by Franck Leblanc for Ecurie Quick Start and closed powerfully in the late going. This race was the Quinte+ race of the day with a 1.2 million euro jackpot, after it was hit several days ago by a lucky player.

The co-featured Gr. III Prix de Vaumas (2700 meters, 76,000 euro purse) for three year-old females went to Alisma du Corta (3f Love You-Marquise du Corta-Vikings Way) handled by Franck Ouvrie for trainer Jean Baudron and owner Jean-Pierre Dubois. The victory was her fifth lifetime and increased her earnings to 108,000 euro. She scored in 1.16.9kr and held off determined Agora (3f Prodigious-Ibiza des Brisarts) and Matthieu Abrivard. Agora du Gauthier (3f Jardy-Olympe Pierji) was third for Franck Nivard. J-P Dubois drove a stablemate of his winner to a sixth place finish with Alike That (3f Love You-Just Like That) trained by Patrick Chevrier.

The Prix de Limeil (2700 meters, 70,000 euro purse) was the monte headliner on today's card. Camille Levesque piloted Tolima (5f Ganymede-Ironie Jet-Coktail Jet) to the 1.14.4kr win, her eighth lifetime now for career earnings of 304,000 euro. The winner is owned by Ecurie des Pommiers and trained by Mike Lenders. Torricelli (6m First de Retz-Olympe Star) was second for David Thomain for trainer Sebastien Guarato.

The top event for older contestants was the Prix de Briare (European, 2700 meters, 54,000 euro purse) and Trophee de Jaba (6g Kasaco Phedo-Otika Vita) secured the win for J-M Bazire as trainer/driver. The winner won for the 12th time in his career and increased his earnings to 230,000 euro. Truman Dairpet (6m Biesolo-Heloise Poterie) took second for P-Y Verva and trainer Guarato. Spanish invader Trebol (6m Hot Blues-Sally Can Wait) raced very well, took the lead entering the stretch and ended third for trainer/driver Gabriel Angel Pou Pou. Conrads Fredrik (6g by Credit Winner) was fourth for Franck Ouvrie and owner Ecurie Skyttes and Ed You (6g Love You-Lancia Brick) was fifth for trainer/driver Robert Bergh and owner Stall Sedin.

Two other Dubois family two year-old trainees won today elsewhere. Best Life (2f Goetmals Wood-New York) won the Prix la Sevre at Nantes with Jean Baudron aboard. The winner secured the 10,000 euro purse over 2,275 meters. Louis Baudron is owner/trainer. Blister Jibi (2m Repeat Love-Nanda du Vivier) won the Prix Coupe des 2 Ans (14,000 euro purse, 2100 meters) at Lyon-Parilly. This one is owned and trained by Jean Baudron.

The field was set for the December 26 Italian Trotting Derby Final, the 86th edition, and is shown below:
