Given a classic second-over trip by driver Tim Tetrick, Shelliscape responded with a great closing effort to win the $81,000 Allerage Farms Mares Open Pace in 1:51.2 Saturday at the Red Mile.

It was Drop The Ball and driver Corey Hanover shooting to the early lead despite the rainy sloppy track and they led the field to the opening quarter in :27.2 with Monkey On My Wheel giving away to grab the two-hole spot.

They raced to the half mile marker in :56.3 and after that was when Rocklamation (Yannick Gingras) came first-over and Shelliscape grabbed the second-over spot. They raced that way through the three-quarters in 1:24.1.

As they came down the stretch Tetrick was able to swing Shelliscape to the center of the track and they passed by Rocklamation as Drop The Ball began to fade and then pulled away to a one and one-half length triumph. Camille (Matt Kakaley) closed well for second money with Rocklamation third.

It was the second straight win and fourth on the year for Shelliscape. The Artiscape four-year-old mare is trained by R. Nifty Norman for the Bamond Racing, LLC of Brick, NJ. She paid $13.80 to win.
