With the east coast getting hit with heavy rain, The Maryland Sire Stakes harness racing prelims at Rosecroft got lucky with just drizzle and wind.

The 3 year old trotting colts and gelding were up first and it was no surprise when pilot Brian Burton sent Speed It (Cam's Rocket) to the front opening up 21 lengths on the field in the 1:59 mile giving him his 8th straight stakes win and 9th for the year.. Righteous Renegade crossed the wire second. Richard Hans owns, trains and bred the winner.

Filly trotters were up next and reinsman Frank Milby had to back Rock The Game (Cam's Rocket) out of the pocket to come three wide down the stretch to catch the leader Star Rose at the wire in 2:01.3. Shaun Callahan trains for owner Breakaway Racing. Nick Callahan was the breeder.

Driver Frank Milby took Fastestgirlaround (Dontloseyourdayjob) to the front and never looked back as they stopped the clock in 1:57.4 with Evergreen Silky coming in for place. Tony Sapienza trains for owner/breeder Gloria Kinnamon.

The upset of the night came in the colt and gelding pace when Toms Tae Kwon Do (Cam's Rocket) stopped Steal N Go's seven race win streak catching him at the wire in 1:59. Russell Foster was in the bike for trainer Roger Hans and owner/breeder Thomas Cooke.

The stallion Cam's Rocket once again showed he produces both trotters and pacers taking 3 of the 4 stakes.

The Maryland Sire Stakes finish their season next week with the 2 year old finals on Tuesday Oct. 4th and the 3 year old finals on Thursday Oct. 6th at Rosecroft.
