The high class harness racing three year old Chachingchaching has been sold for a large six figure offer and will do his future racing in Australia.
The son of Mach Three has really come into his own recently and was starting to put together the record his trainer Ray Green always thought he was capable of.
A change of driver part way through the season helped the cause with David Butcher striking up a good relationship with the colt.
An outstanding fifth in the Harness Jewels from barrier eight followed by an effortless win at Alexandra Park solicited an attractive offer from Australia and Ray came to accept the money was too good to say no to.
" I talked to the owners and told them it was a great offer and there isn't a lot for four year olds in New Zealand so in my opinion they should sell him."
" I'm sorry to see him go because he is the best horse in the stable but you have to do your best by your owners and that is what I have done here," Ray said.
A winner of seven races and $114,304 as a two and three year old in New Zealand, Chachingchaching has been purchased by Paul Boug and is heading to Sydney.
Ray has got some lovely horses coming through to help fill the gap left by the departure of Chachinchaching headed by this seasons smart two year old filly Killer Queen 1:54.2pl ($51,100) who was placed in the Harness Jewels while Ray has a bit of time for the Bettors Delight two year old Zach Maguire.
" He is a nice horse who is improving all the time."
" At this stage I am still toying with taking him to the Breeders Crown," Ray said.
As is normal with the Lincoln Farm setup, they purchased a lot of yearlings at this years round of sales to go with their home breds and are presently working their way through breaking them all in.
Ray has been particularly impressed with three fillies to date.
" The fillies look really smart to be honest."
" I have a full sister to Sir Lincoln who I really like and and fillies by Vintage Master and American Ideal that have impressed as well," Ray said.
The Lincoln Farm operation has been a constant in the age group classics in the last ten years and look to have plenty of ammunition for next seasons juvenile races.
