The Board of Harness Racing New South Wales met today (Tuesday April 3) to discuss future strategies following the High Court decision last Friday.
It was resolved to increase all base prizemoney for Tier 2 meetings by $500 per race to $5,000 for the remainder of the current financial year and effective from the Tabcorp Park Menangle meeting on Monday 9 April.
Further announcements, which pertain to next financial year, will be made following the upcoming Harness Racing Clubs Committee meeting and the Industry Forums at Menangle, Newcastle, Bathurst and Wagga in late April and early May.
HRNSW will release a document outlining its precise financial position to assist with the discussions concerning how we best utilise the funds accumulated from both Race Fields fees and the sale of Harold Park.
TWO-HOUR ARRIVAL RETURNS TO MENANGLE "METRO"
The Board of Harness Racing NSW today resolved to reintroduce the two-hour on-course arrival time for horses engaged at Tabcorp Park Menangle metropolitan meetings.
This policy takes effect from the fixture at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday 14 April and will apply to all meetings held at the venue on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The one-hour arrival time will remain in place for all other meetings unless otherwise directed by the HRNSW Regulatory Department.
