Miracle Mile Barrier Draw
Franco Jamar - who is being operated on today (Monday January 21).

Victorian harness racing trainer Lance Justice joked with the media prior to yesterday about the probability of draw the ace one barrier position in next Saturday night's (November 26) $500,000 SEW Eurodrive Miracle Mile.

In an uncanny turn of events Justice got his wish with his champion pacer Smoken Up grabbing the one alley at last night's (Sunday) function and barrier draw. "I had a few on about the likelihood that I would draw one, I was just sort of joking around with it but I'm thrilled and it gives him a really good winning chance from there, especially if we can hold the front," Justice said today.

Smoken Up will vie for favouritism with arch rival and West Australian pacing star I'm Themightyquinn which drew three, while the Luke McCarthy pairing of Mr Feelgood and Franco Jamar faired a little worse off drawing seven and ten respectively. McCarthy has yet to make a decision as to which horse he will drive on Saturday night. The two other Kiwi horses in the field received no luck with the barrier draws either, 2011 New Cup winner Terror To Love drew nine, while Raglan comes into eight.

The field and draws for Saturday night's (November 26, 9.40pm) $500,000 SEW Eurodrive Miracle Mile is:

1: Smoken Up $2.80

2: Lisagain $26.00

3: Im Themightyquinn $2.60

4: Garnett River (1st emergency) $41.00

5: Karloo Mick $51.00

6: Mega Alexander (2nd emergency) $51.00

7: Mr Feelgood $6.00

8: Raglan $17.00

9: Terror To Love $9.00

10: Franco Jamar $5.50
